Bison top Bulldogs in crucial contest – Akron News-Reporter

There was a battle in Washington County last Friday night when the #3 Bulldogs traveled to Arickaree to take on the #4 Bison on their Homecoming night.
The Bison was out to prove a point early on, jumping out to a 22-6 after the opening quarter. Otis struggled to get any offense going, and was shut out in the second quarter – a feat that hasn’t happened much all season. Midway through the game, Arickaree held a comfortable 38-6 advantage.
Coming out of the break, it was a defensive battle on both sides of the ball. Both teams managed a half dozen in the third, making it a 44-12 game in favor of the Bison. The game was far from over, though, as Otis did what Otis does. The Bulldogs gave it one final push, outscoring Arickaree 21-8 in the quarter. However, the damage was already done. Arickaree took the huge 52-33 league win.
Penalties played a bit role in the game, with Arickaree committing just seven penalties for 65 yards, compared to the Bulldogs’ 11 penalties for 180 yards.
For Arickaree, senior Logan Wright completed five of 10 passes for 145 yards and two passing touchdowns and carried the ball 20 times for 230 yards and five rushing touchdowns. Senior Bryce Shaffer had three receptions for 65 yards. Senior Jacob Jefferson had a 50-yard touchdown catch and two carries for 12 yards. Sophomore Dillon Noletubby had a 30-yard touchdown catch, kicked off six times for 278 yards and was good on five of seven PAT attempts. Sophomore Jake King had…
