Beauty Supply Offers a One Stop Shop for Community

Community members need not travel far this Halloween season if they are in search of a fun look for their tricks and treats. 

Grace’s Beauty Supply and Boutique located at 730 East F St, Suite E in Oakdale offers a variety of beauty supply items, as well as wigs, hair extensions, braiding hair, hair products, hair accessories, bundles (human hair), make-up, handbags and accessories.

“I juggled with the name, but being a pastor I want everything I do to represent God,” business owner Kendra Jordan said, “and I want to help the people. Not everything I do is about a financial gain. It’s really about helping the community and giving back.”

Jordan shared the name came to her one morning after a good night sleep. Initially favoring “grace,” the s was added to differentiate from another business with a similar name. 

First opening in April of 2021, Jordan shared she felt prompted to open a business of this type for two reasons. 

While the shop offers products for everyone, she had noticed a lot of African American and bi-racial families in town and saw a need to service them for hair products. The business owner noted she also noticed a lot of foster parents with African American children whom were unaware how to work with their hair. 

“So if I was here, I figured it would give us an opportunity to educate them and show them the different products and let them know what is needed for African American children and their hair,” she said.
